Oral Transmission of the Qur’an

Welcome to this exciting episode with Abdur-Raheem Green who discusses the issue of Oral Transmission of the Qur’an and how it proves the credibility of Islam.

He begins his talk by presenting a historical overview on the way of transmitting information during that time. It was transmitted from one generation to another that was passed on from father to son, mother to daughter and son on and so forth.

Allah the Almighty says in the Qur’an:

It is a recitation that We have revealed in parts, so that you can recite it to people at intervals; We have sent it down little by little. (Al-Israa’ 17:106)

This was to facilitate the memorization and retention of the Qur’an in the memories of people.

How was the Qur’an memorized over the ages? How did the Prophet (peace be upon him) encourage the companions to memorize the Qur’an? Why is the Qur’an unique?

Follow us on this fascinating episode with Abdur-Raheem Green who answers all these questions and more…
