Recitation of the Qur’an
Almighty Allah says:
…and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation. (Al-Muzzammil 73:4)
In another verse:
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. (Al-Baqarah 2:121)
Welcome to a new interesting episode of “Correct Your Recitation” series with Sheikh Muhammad Salah and his guests. First Sheikh Isma`il recites from the beginning of Surat Al-Qalam (The 68th Chapter of the Qur’an with 52 verses that talks in detail about Allah’s Justice and the Day of Judgment) to verse 25.
In this episode, Dr. Muhammad Salah begins his explanation to Surat Al-Qalam. It was revealed in Makkah before the migration of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to Madinah. The surah discusses the objections of the disbelievers, warning and admonition to them, and exhortation to the Prophet (peace be upon him) to patience and constancy.
Then, Dr. Muhammad talks about the wisdom of the divine oath with the Pen and the belief in Al-Qadar (Fate – the Divine Will and Decree). Abdullah ibn `Amr (may Allah be pleased with) said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: “Allah ordained the measures (of quality) of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, as His Throne was upon water.” (Muslim)
After pondering over the verses, Dr. Muhammad continues his explanation of some new rules of Tajweed. He talks in detail about the characteristics of the letters that are Shidah (explosive), Rakhawah (softness) and Tawasut (moderation).
Enjoy watching and learning the best effective ways to understand and recite the Qur’an perfectly.
