Learn To Correct Your Recitation of the Qur’an
Almighty Allah says:
…and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation. (Al-Muzzammil 73:4)
In another verse:
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. (Al-Baqarah 2:121)
Welcome to a new interesting episode of “Correct Your Recitation” series with Sheikh Muhammad Salah and his guests.
Surat Al-Kafirun (the Disbelievers) is the 109th chapter of the Qur’an that was revealed in Makkah. It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite this Surah with Surat Al-Ikhlas in the two raka`ahs following circumambulating the Ka`bah.” (Muslim)
It was also narrated that he used to recite them in the two raka`ahs of Fajr (Dawn) prayer. (Muslim)
The surah explains the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims based on justice and mercy. Calling others to Islam and conveying its message are an obligation upon the Muslim community. Allah sent Prophets and Messengers in all ages to preach and propagate the Islamic Monotheism. All of them called people to worship none but Allah. There are six articles of faith, when one denounces any of them, he/she will be out of Islam.
Surat An-Nasr (the Divine Support) is the 110th chapter of the Qur’an that was revealed in Madinah. Ibn `Abbas says that when this Surah was revealed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that he had been informed of his death and his time had approached. (Ahmad)
This Surah was revealed in Madinah after the migration of the Prophet (peace be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah. It contains the glad tidings of a great victory for Islam, after which, people, in droves, flocked to the banner of Islam.
As usual Dr. Muhammad Salah begins his talk by reflecting on the meanings of the surahs. Then, he explains some new rulings of tajweed.
