How to Correct Your Recitation
Almighty Allah says:
…and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation. (Al-Muzzammil 73:4)
In another verse:
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. (Al-Baqarah 2:121)
Welcome to a new interesting episode of “Correct Your Recitation” series with Sheikh Muhammad Salah and his guests. First Sheikh Isma`il recites the full surah of Ash-Shams. Surat Ash-Shams is the 91th chapter of the Qur’an with fifteen verses. It is a Makki surah that contains many oaths sworn on astronomical phenomena. The surah narrates the story of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) and his people (Thamud). They disobeyed their prophet and object to his message and therefore Allah Almighty destroyed them at the end. The Almighty Allah says:
`Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune. Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. (Al-Qamar 54: 18-20)
As usual Dr. Muhammad Salah begins his talk by reflecting on the verses of the surah to ease their understanding for viewers. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the most beloved to Allah used to invoke Allah Almighty to purify his soul. After that, Dr. Muhammad Salah narrates the story of Prophet Saleh (peace be upon him).
Then Dr. Muhammad receives the phone calls of the viewers to correct their recitation.
Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Dr. Muhammad Salah to know new rules of tajweed.
