Welcome to a new interesting episode of “Correct Your Recitation” series with Sheikh Muhammad Salah and his guests. First Sheikh Isma`il recites from the verse number 15 of surat Al-Fajr till the end of the surah, and surat Al-Balad.

Surat Al-Balad is the 99th chapter of the Qur’an with twenty verses. It is a Makki surah that sheds some light on the great miracles of Allah in the creation of human being. Dr. Muhammad Salah begins his talk by reflecting on the verses to show their meaning in brief.

Then Dr. Muhammad starts with explain some new rules of tajweed (rulings of recitation) regarding madd (lengthening). There are two types of madd that have two vowel counts:

1- The lesser connective lengthening

2- The Substitute Lengthening

It is substituting a lengthened Alif for the tanween with two fathas when stopping on it. It has two cases as follows:

A- When the word has tanween with fatha. In the sequence of recitation, we drop in the substitute madd of Alif; and pronounce it when we stop at it. After that, Dr. Muhammad Salah receives the phone calls of the viewers to correct their recitation.

Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Dr. Muhammad Salah to know new rules of tajweed.
