Here’s a new practical lesson with Sheikh Muhammad Salah instructing us in Qur’an recitation. The episode as usual begins first with with the recitation of the verses at hand.
This one begins with Sheikh Salah’s beautiful voice reciting Surat At-Takwir (the eighty first chapter of the Qur’an) before he briefly introduces to the surah, where, as a Makkan surah, the concepts of belief and Tawheed (oneness of God) are dominating.
Then Sheikh Salah goes on interpreting the meaning of its verses, shedding the light on the Day of Judgment and what will take place on that day as God tells us.
About Surat At-Takwir, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever wishes to look at the Day of Judgment as if he is seeing it with his own eyes, then let him read: “When the sun is overthrown…” (At-Takwir 81:1) (Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi)
In the second part of the episode Sheikh Salah reviews the rule of tajweed (recitation); An-Nun As-Sakinah and At-Tanwin (known in Arabic as Iqlab, meaning change), which is tackled in detail in the 57th episode of Correct Your Recitation.
