Welcome to a new interesting episode of the interpretation of some verses from the Glorious Qur’an with Sheikh Nouman Khan. Almighty Allah says on the tongue of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him):
O My Lord make this a peaceful city… (Al-Baqarah 2: 126)
In another verse, Allah says,
O My Lord make this city peaceful… (Ibrahim 14: 35)
At first glance, one my think that there is no difference between the two verses, and that the meaning is the same, but the first du`aa’ (supplication) was made before Makkah became a city. When Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) came back when it was already a city, he modified his du`aa’ .
Enjoy watching this interesting talk with Sheikh Nouman Khan to learn the wisdom behind the difference of the supplication of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
