In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan reflects on Surat Al-Ma`un (the 107th Chapter of the Qur’an which talks about the characteristics of those who claim to be Muslims but disregard the Hereafter) to give us some lessons for life.
This talk begins with a beautiful recitation of the Surah. Sheikh Nouman begins his reflection by clarifying the link between the third and the last verse to shed some light on a kind of crime or wrongdoing that is made against people. The true Muslim who is good to people must be good to Allah and vice versa.
The word ‘Ma`un’ means zakah (obligatory alms) according to most companions and scholars. Literally means, “It is that what you cannot be cheap in” like water. Then, he talks about the hardness of the heart.
Finally, Sheikh Nouman draws some lessons from the Surah that are necessary in our life.
